Taxi Punat

One of the most secured bays on the Adriatic called Puntarska draga belongs to the southwest part of the Island of Krk. Punat town is located on the eastern side of the bay. In the past Punat was a village oriented to olive growing, viniculture and fishing.

Serious development of tourism in Punat started in 1923, when Villa Lucija was opened – the first hotel in Punat. Punat bay hides a beautiful tiny island in the middle – Košljun. A Franciscan monastery and a rich vegetation are Košljun’s trademarks.

Punat is also important for a nautical tourism in Croatia. In 1964 the first foreign yachts were left for maintenance and berthing in the Punat Shipyard. It was the beginning of the first marina in Croatia – Marina Punat.

Today, thanks to marina and shipyard, Punat is a real nautical centre. The bay, the narrow little streets of the town and isle are irresistible – falling in love is inevitable.
